The Bothy Bible Book Group
Tuesday evenings: 7:30 -9:00pm
This group meets on average 3 out of 4 Tuesdays and has a great feel to it. It is based around the idea that the Bible is worth reading – after all it contains ancient stories that have stood the test of time and that have been life-changing for many people. But the group is about more than reading and reflecting on the Bible – it is about life – how we can make sense of it – and how we can live well.
We make the assumption that there are no 'experts' in Life – but we all have something to learn and something to contribute. The group provides an excellent opportunity to explore a bit of the Bible with others in a safe, non-threatening environment. No question is off-limits and various view points are encouraged.
These evenings give newcomers a tantalising 'insiders' taste of who Jesus was and what it might look like to follow him. In this group, you’ll also experience community with other people on a similar journey. Our informal discussions are accompanied by coffee and dessert. We always have an empty chair so you can be sure there is a place for you when you rock up.
This Autumn we are doing two short series that will give a behind-the-scenes look at some of the less well know Christmas Nativity stories in the Bible. I think we are in for a few surprises! (I bet you didn't know that one of the stories features a dragon – did you?!) If you would like to try it out for one week – just let us know and we will get out the red carpet!
