The concert is free, but we hope the audience will show their appreciation by buying some raffle tickets or make a contribution to the charity we are supporting this summer: Southampton Children's Hospital Charity. The money we raise will contribute towards the new Children's Accident and Emergency Department
To help with refreshments we are inviting al those will a talent for baking to get out their mixing bowls and bake a cake to share at the interval – our very own Lordswood Bake-Off!
The summer choir have some real musical treats to share with you including:
We go together, Africa, Hushabye Mountain, Sunshine on Leith, I have a dream, and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.
Living Lordswood's aim is to bring joy, hope and a sense of belonging to the community, so come along and enjoy the experience!
Christmas is coming…!
We look forward to welcoming new members to the choir in early October… and would love you to be part of it.
Memories are made of this…
There is a saying that 'Life isn't a matter of milestones but of moments.' There's a lot of truth in that and looking back over the past few years we have some amazing 'moments' to look back on.
Many of us have found that singing is a choir can be a magical experience as one creates moments and memories through melody.
Sing for joy…
The Living Lordswood Community Choir was started with the stated objective of bringing 'Joy, hope and a sense of belonging' to those who become part of the choir family and it has surpassed our wildest dreams. We started in 2013 with about 30 members but we seem to grow with each new season and last time about 50 people of all ages signed up. Because of its popularity and our commitment to the local community we promote it as a 'local choir for local people.'
A place for you…
It is an open access choir and we accept people whatever their musical experience (or lack of it!) Moreover it is definitely 'bloke' friendly and has a great '3 generation' family feel to it.
We are really excited about this summer choir. Once again we have an eclectic choice of songs that have been suggested by former choir members and are looking forward to our next performance on 14th July. This will be our 10th Charity Concert and we are expecting it to be the best ever! But as always we are depending on you for that!
